Overview

The Test Lab conducts thorough testing and analysis of mechanical components to ensure their reliability and performance across diverse conditions. With its integrated system encompassing Users, Inventory, Compliance requirements, and Regulatory guidance, efficient process execution is vital. - Currently Team uses manual process by using hard paper copies to record Equipment Bookings. - Users are using Excel templates for different departments where there is no connectivity between the departments when it comes to Inventory of samples though they are suppose to be. - No proper track for Equipment Usage - Lab Manager is not receiving notifications regarding the Maintenance related activities from SAP (where they enter the Equipment related information). This increases the effort of Lab Team to manually check the SAP system for Maintenance related activities. - No Integrated System for tracking Inventory and Assets.

Personas

We defined Personas in order to stream line our findings.

Considering the personas and research data, I decided to build user stories and to check with the stakeholders on taking up the user stories on priority basis. Here I used MoSCoW Analysis which basically classified User Stories into Must Have, Should Have, Could Have, Will not Have.

Task Flow

From the User Stories we were able to get a picture on the expected features but not sure about the level of implementation required at this stage. We decided to create a Task Flow diagram to stitch these to meaningful stories.

Created Few Story Boards for Brainstorming Sessions along with Whiteboarding Activities for a better Understanding of the flow.

User Feedback

We have been connected with the Stakeholders on various modules at different stages to gather the information and opinions. Hence there were iterations made and created the Visual Design. We used Visual Design rather that creating Low Fidelity Wire-frames for Stakeholder and User Feed backs.

Usability Testing

We conducted Usability Testing and based on the feedback we received, we improved the screens and after getting the sign-off from the business stakeholders we conducted the grooming session to the development and verification team and delivered the design files along with styleguide.
